Sunnyside Health Center is located in the 8800 building on Sunnyside Road.
Hours of Operation
The clinic’s patient care hours are 9:00 AM through 5:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 9:00 AM through
1:00 PM on Friday. We are closed on Tuesday from 12-2 for a staff meeting.
Sunnyside’s Vision
Sunnyside’s vision of patient care is "empowerment through education." Our purpose is to educate our patients
about their condition, about their treatment options, and, most importantly, about the health needs they have
that are unique to them.
Mission
Sunnyside Health Center and Chiropractic Clinic, P.C. (SSHC or Sunnyside) has the belief that every patient
has the right to pursue health. This includes receiving early advice for the prevention of disease and the
maintenance of their well being. We fulfill our mission through the philosophy of, "Patient centered health care,"
where the individual is ultimately responsible for their health decisions. Our aim is to ensure that our patients
can make these decisions after being properly informed and educated about their health status and options for
health care. High level wellness and longevity are two aspects of our program.
The purpose of SSHC is to provide quality health care and health related services including an extensive patient
educational program. We know that we have succeeded in this aim when patients choose us as their "first
opinion" throughout the rest of their life.
We are committed to a comprehensive approach that respects the whole person – structurally, emotionally,
nutritionally, environmentally and spiritually.
Superb patient service is not just a philosophy, our patients’ complete satisfaction is our highest purpose.
Sunnyside Was Founded in 1977
Dr. Richard Brouse founded Sunnyside Health Center and Chiropractic Clinic in September of 1977. Dr. Brouse
had just graduated from Western States Chiropractic College and received his license to practice Chiropractic in
the State of Oregon. His practice grew rapidly as he developed his philosophy and determined how he wanted
to structure his practice.
Current location since 1983
Sunnyside has been in its current location, the 8800 Plaza building, since August of 1983. The 8800 Plaza
Building is surrounded by the Clackamas Promenade and is across the street from Clackamas Town Center,
which is the busiest shopping mall in Oregon and southern Washington. The convenience of an international
airport (15 miles away), convenient lodging (several hotels within blocks), a nice shopping mall (next door) and
picturesque Oregon countryside have ensured that our patients have a memorable and low-stress experience
while visiting Sunnyside.

Referral practice
Sunnyside Health Center and Chiropractic Clinic is primarily a referral practice. This means that all of the
people who are new patients have been referred to the clinic by a doctor who understands our health care
philosophy or by an existing patient. Sunnyside generally does not place ads advertising its services. This is
important because we expect our patients to understand our general philosophy before they ever come through
our doors. Our level of care can be very intensive and it is important that our patients are willing for the work
and lifestyle changes that our health program requires.
Things that make this practice unique
Sunnyside offers services not often found in other health care facilities. But more important than the individual
clinical services we offer, patients have come to expect the following from Sunnyside:
* A more comprehensive health analysis and treatment program than they can find
elsewhere
* Patients are given the diagnostic tests results in the form of a bound report. These
reports explain the purpose of the test, the relevance of the findings,
recommended follow-up testing and treatment and a suggested health program
including diet, lifestyle and nutritional supplements.
